The site is not showing on google search results
So If your site is not showing on Google search results then you have to perform the below checks and process to prevent not indexing your site on google search results. So let’s get started.
Check whether there is the below code in the HTML file of your website.
The codes which you have to find are :
1. <meta name="googlebot-news" content="noindex" /> 2. <meta name="googlebot-news" content="noindex" /> 3. <meta name="googlebot" content="noindex"> <meta name="googlebot-news" content="nosnippet">
if there are any of these codes then your site will not be indexed, to resolve that you have to remove these codes from your html file so that Google can Index your page.
If you didn’t find the code there you can consider next checks to resolve your problem.
To perform the next check you have to send a request on your website and have to check the response, for that you can use a free software called Postman which is used to check API’s but here we can use it to solve our problem or instead using postman you can use curl or wget if you are in linux OS.
After installing Postman you need to open postman and click the new button at the top left corner. Now type your website link as directed in the picture below. And set the request to GET .
After this all set now hit the send button.
After this some process will happen and then you will get a response, here in the response section if you get below type of response in any case then it causes the not indexing behavior.
The affected responses are:
1. HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Tue, 25 May 2010 21:42:43 GMT (…) X-Robots-Tag: noindex (…) 2. HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Tue, 25 May 2010 21:42:43 GMT (…) X-Robots-Tag: noarchive X-Robots-Tag: unavailable_after: 25 Jun 2010 15:00:00 PST (…) 3. HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Tue, 25 May 2010 21:42:43 GMT (…) X-Robots-Tag: googlebot: nofollow X-Robots-Tag: otherbot: noindex, nofollow (…)
So if the response you are getting is matching any of the above, then you have to check your backend or browser settings, there are mismatches for that. For more information checkout: https://developers.google.com/search/reference/robots_meta_tag
The third check is, you have to check the root folder of your website (Root folder is where all files are stored in your hosting) . If there are any files named robots.txt then it can be causing your problem. You have to simply delete that file, after deleting you can see the indexed website on google search results, (note: your site does not appear soon, it can take a month to completely show your site in search results) for more info check google’s docs: here.
After this all checks if you didn’t find your problem then there are two last options for resolving this.
The fourth check is, go to your google search console with the email account you have registered to your search console. There you can see the option Removals, go there and delete your site if there is your site. And now you are good to go. Now after a month, you can check your website and this will be indexed to your search results. for more details visit: Welcome To Your SEO Learning Journey Free Why-Worried.
